Bloomington High School Media Center

When you enter the front doors of Bloomington High School, follow the royal purple and wood floor design toward the renovated Library and Media Center. At the back of the room you'll find a retractable screen that can be discreetly hidden behind sliding wooden doors, or left open to reveal artwork mimicking floor designs and color schemes that appear through the Bloomington High School campus.

The custom-designed ceiling fixture has a mirror above it, giving the illusion of being able to see up and through the second floor. The area is intended for reading, quiet contemplation, and inspiration from the images of history, art, and science that create each suspended layer. The inspiration in this area is an extension of previous artwork, where one could look up and see images of the high school seniors who would be moving on to their next chapter and inspiring the younger classes who would soon do the same.
