Fleur de Lis

Oftentimes people start with their home and build the landscape around to complement it. But occasionally someone wants to start with the landscaping, and this property is a beautiful example of letting the trees and the creek shape the structure and the space in ways that don't disrupt nature but enhance it by showing your eyes where to focus.

Opportunities

Allowing the natural curves of the creek to define the space for the home, allowed it to complement rather than compete with its surroundings. The edges of the home provide a balance to the curves of the banks of the water.

Wanting to provide guests with the ability to experience nature in all seasons, the back patio was decided to allow for heat in the spring and fall, extending the seasons and the ability for guests to be surrounded by the trees and nearby creek.
