Scharnett Architects & Associates is the successor firm to Francois Associates Architects LLC, which began in 1990 as a general practice of architecture. We specialize in developing design-driven and unique projects with a strong emphasis on client relationships. Our experience encompasses diverse architectural building types with projects ranging significantly in both size and type. Our experienced observation ensures that the delivery of services will be project-specific and that the solutions will successfully address the challenges encountered. Past Projects have included major renovations for downtown historic structures, residences, museums, Health/Life Safety modifications for schools, additions to local businesses, and new buildings ranging in type and size for a diverse and discerning client base.
We are looking to add to our team a Senior Technical Architect to lead in developing construction documents and project development processes for residential, commercial, and landscaping projects in central Illinois.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL BE A:
Prepares and coordinates reliable conceptual, record, preliminary/schematic, design development, and construction drawings (with heavy emphasis on construction documents).
Performs thorough building code and regulatory analysis.
Coordinates building components and requirements with Consultants and Contractors.
Works with Contractors and Owners from Schematic Design through Construction Administration to meet Project Objectives.
Initiates and maintains regular communication with clients and employees as appropriate to current and developing projects.
Developer of strong working relationships with all parties.
Maintains project schedule for both in-house and external project schedules.
Works with Project Manager to develop key milestones for project development and presentation to Owner.
Works with Project Manager to maintain project budget for document development and overall target project budget.
Considers and develops alternative options for meeting client’s target budget.
Confident in design ability and development of appropriate solutions for projects ranging in scale, quantity, and intensity.
Consistently and professionally works with client and employees to identify design challenges, objectives, solutions, and options.
Professionally communicates design value and balance of Owner’s needs; recommends quality solutions first.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have an accredited architecture degree
Imminent or continued registration as a licensed Architect required
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
Must be proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Excel, and Word and able adapt to new software as needed by the construction industry
Minimum of 10 years experience
COMPENSATION
Salaried Position starting at $90,000 a year, commensurate with experience
