Bloomington Area Career Center (BACC) Technology Center Renovations
This project included the renovation of the Bloomington Area Career Center (BACC) classrooms and Bloomington High School Information Technology department to accommodate a network and computer learning lab. Within the computer learning lab you'll find unique wall storage solutions to make it easy for students and the IT department to view a variety of computer monitors, laptops, and hard drives. In addition there are open cable trays that line the top of every wall, for ease of connectivity and visibility of network connections. The classroom is also fully equipped with a smart board and multiple cameras for virtual classroom teaching, as well as traditional whiteboards flanking each wall for problem solving. All tables, chairs and computer cabinets are on wheels for a fully modular room setup.
NETWORKING
Open cable trays line the top of every wall with intentional holes throughout the bottom of the trays for ease of networking, connectivity, and visibility. In addition to playing a practical role, the presence of the trays around the entire room is a visual reminder that technology is all around the students and can be tapped into anywhere they go in their future careers.
Collaborative
Technology is ever changing, so we are all using old and new technology, side-by-side throughout our lives. This space is designed to encourage student collaboration and allow for maximum flexibility in table configurations and network connections.
