Chenoa Public Library
Scharnett Architects designed the Public Library in Chenoa, Illinois which opened in July of 2020. Located on Chenoa's historic Main Street, the exterior brick complements the row of businesses next to it, which adding interest and depth through recessed rows of bricks in a darker color. The interior maximizes natural lighting with many floor to ceiling windows and glass dividers rather than traditional walls. Two landscaping features that flank the entrance introduce welcoming greenery and provide a natural sitting area for patrons.

- History: The original library opened to the public in November of 1913 inside a Presbyterian Church built in 1862. The first library had about 2000 books. The Chenoa Public Library became a District Library on April 1, 2002, and in 2019 we began the process to build a new library on Green Street, which opened to the public in July of 2020.
